D2 condenser fan seized

I was idling my truck with the ac on the other day before a job interview. When I got into my car the ac was blowing warm air and the temp gauge was at 2/3... shit. Temp went down right away once driving, so I figured fan clutch or condenser fan. Today I dug into it and noticed there was a 30a fuse where the 40a fuse was supposed to be and it was blown. Took a screw driver and tried turning the fan, its seized up.

Has anyone had success fixing these? or should I get a used replacement? Is there a replacement motor I can put in?

Thanks

Similar thing happened to me, I was checking the fan condition and noticed it was seized. I took it off the condenser and opened it, sprayed some wd40, took off the blades and forced the rotor to turn. After you gave it a few turns by hand, I plugged it directly to battery to have it working for a few minutes. I still have some doubts about his correct function and I'm trying to figure a way to know if it goes on while you're driving.

Anyway the factory fan doesn't look very good to me, I'm planning to install 2 spals.

Mine was seized bad, vice grips would not turn it. I got a new motor for a Toyota Corolla to put in there. It was an exact fit, I just had to use my original plug (with the black and blue wires switched to make it turn the right way).

The factory fan gets water inside motor easily. I'm getting Spal and be done with it. I did it with my Defender, changed the factory setup and put 2 Spals fans.

Pulled mine out and it was rusted to shit, you could tell water sat in the bottom causing it to seize up. Do you think drilling some holes would help it drain or just make it worse? I'm going to get a used unit from one of the vendors here, I was thinking about putting some small holes in to help it drain...

Could you please give us the toyota part numbers? Or at least the MY corolla it came from?

Best regards and thank you

From what I remember in the RAVE certain conditions needed for aux fan to run.
Engine temp above 212
Speed below 50mph
Even if operating the AC these above conditions apply.

You can do a work around that I did on mine. I have a relay that gets triggered when the ac pump turns on that turns on the aux fan. The plug wire adapter I made doesn't interfere with the factory set up so the fan will still turn on if the temp gets above 212.

I do agree that 1 fan is wimpy 2 fans would be better.

I figured out mine was not working because I saw that the fuse was blown when I was poking around in the fuse box. Your fan should turn on if the ignition is on, the ac is on and blowing air and the outside temp gauge reads above 80 degrees and the engine is at operating temp somewhere.

The part number at advance auto is 35110. If you buy online, the price drops randomly at times and then goes back up for a while, kind of weird. I got it for about $70. The motor even uses the same color wires but make sure that you reverse to wires when you rewire the plug or it will spin backwards.
