I had RTE-similar lower front shock mounts on my D1 and retained the springs.Has anybody retained their front lower springs while using RTE lower shock mounts?

I used these plates from Ballistic Fab.

Drilled two holes in the plate to match the spring perch bolts and shock mounts. Bolt went through the shock mount, retainer plate, and spring perch.
I thought about it, but never had issues when using the inverted front cones. I would do as Brett did, but TF's are probably the same price as doing it yourself, and they're zinc coated
That's what I've got for my rear lowers. I liked the round Ballistic Fab ones for the front because they provided a nice platform for the shock mounts.Or go to Home Depot, buy 12" of 1" wide 3/16 steel... Cut in half, drill 2 holes to match spring retainer bolt holes...
I think external shocks would be better. Get rrc eas front shock mountain and fab a lower mount.
I've got a set of these I'd be willing to sell.
Ok I'm wrong. I saw what I thought were rrc eas mounts on a d1 but I thought it mounted to the top of the spring bucket with the 4 studs.
Maybe it was aftermarket.

I had the qt's on my green d2. Inverted cones and the qt upper outboard mounts. I welded ballistic fab lower shock mounts on the sway bar axle mount.Ok I'm wrong. I saw what I thought were rrc eas mounts on a d1 but I thought it mounted to the top of the spring bucket with the 4 studs.

I have both lower mounts and retainers from RTE on my D2. I don't have a pic of them installed, but here are some pics.
