D2 - How to open hood from outside?

Hey guys:

I went away on vacation and my car battery ran down. This means that my keyless entry doesn't work. Moreover, the driver-side door keyed entry doesn't work either because the pin inside the door broke a while back and I was too lazy to get around to fixing it.

So....

I need to find a way to open the hood from the outside so that I can get at the battery to recharge it. Does somebody know an easy way to do this?

Or would the easier thing be to call a locksmith and have them break in?

I'm not sure if you can reach it but there is a cable that leads to the latch. Lay on the ground under the bumper and look for the cable. If you can reach it, give it a tug to release the catch.

I broke the handle last winter on my DI. I now use the "lay on the ground" method

Lay under the truck with a battery with jumper cables and jump the battery to your starter. Then use the key fob. I have had to do that a couple of times.

That's what I was gonna say. Just be careful not to short anything out.
