D2 oil pan 2" rubber access plugs?

What is anyone using as a viable replacement for these dang plugs. They allow access to the TQ converter bolts. Every one I've touched is soft and swollen and is reluctant to or downright refuses to stay in place.

I’ve used the brass and rubber expansion plugs available at most auto parts stores. I think the 1-3/8” is the size I used. I’ve used them on two Discos with total success.
