D2 2000 Bosch Engine

Well after putting it off for ages due to the amount of bad press on how awfull it is..

Sat morning started it, no rave diagram, basic tools and a no rush attitude.

Took around 2 hrs for plugs and leads, yes its a little fiddly, but not a major problem.

On a 1-5 F##K scale it was a only a one

Remove the secondary air injection stainless tubes
Removed the idle valve too and cleaned
Removed the air intake plastics
Slip the rear wiring loom off its clips and out of the way
access both coil packs from the passenger side
standing on a short stool, you don't need to lie on the engine
unless you have short arms and want to break the vacum hoses
Using a $ 4.00 spark plug puller helps, when bent to suit
Remove the top row of leads and note where they go
remove the lower row of leads and note where they go
Replace lower middle one first on each pack
replace outers on lower row
Then repeat for the uppers.

Refit all ......

Magnecore leads were $85 shipped using a previous threads supplier
and a discount code

replacing D2 engine mounts rates a 3 F in my book

each wire with conduit where they contact the engine, im not sure how mags hold up to chafe.

i got my magnacores from AB and they were black.
i was hopeing for red or yellow.
