Thanks in advance.
There are 2 high pressure lines coming out the top of the power steering box. My d2 is leaking at the fitting of the line(hose) that doesnt go to the reservior. Anyone have successful experience replacing the o rings? The line looks ok and I tried tightening the bolt, but it is still leaking. Should I try to replace the whole line or does the entire box need replacing? Any input or thoughts would be great.

Happy turkey day.

there is one high pressure line. it goes from the box to the pump. odd that its leaking at the fitting, but I would just go ahead and replace the whole hose since the high pressure hose is a common failure anyways.

Thanks. Is that line hard to remove? Can I get to it from underneath? Do I have to take the box out? Sorry but the rave doesnt show enough detail and I am a newbie ish.

Sorry to bring another old thread to the forefront again but I'm still trying to get some advice about stopping a leak that has continued since I changed our the gearbox. My mechanic said that he thinks the leak is coming from the hose going into the actual pump. Is that the high pressure hose? Is there an "O" ring that i can replace (if so does anyone know what size it is) or do I need to do the entire hose?

I just did this a couple of weeks ago. I tried to change the O rings to stop the leak, but ended up having to replace to whole high pressure line. Not a fun job, I did it without taking out the radiator. Not sure if that would have been easier though. Good luck.

I ordered a replacement hose yesterday. Should it come with all the O rings that I need to replace? My mechanic was saying something about an O ring that is behind the hose fitting inside the pump? I'm a bit confused and a little worried since he is not a land rover specialist and I want to make sure that this fixes my leaking problem since replacing the gearbox did not fix the problem.

The hose (line) should come with O rings attached. Where was/is it leaking from? A lot people say the pump itself is the first thing to start leaking not the gearbox. But I am not very experienced , so you may want to get a different mechanic and/ or search this forum for more complete info. Sorry, but the gearbox should be the last thing to change out.
Good luck

My mechanic said that it was leaking from the fitting where the line goes into the pump. Are the gearbox and pump one piece?

My mechanic got the hose and is saying that there is an "O" ring inside the pump too that he needs. Is that the case? Does anyone know what size it is?

If I'm getting a pretty big puddle under my disco when it is parked and having to add fluid is it likely that I have a leak other than the high pressure line? Wouldn't I lose fluid only with the thing running and maybe a little dripping after I park? Just really trying to pin this leak down.
