D2 Power Steering Pump Removal

Okay, Im replacing the PS pump on my99 D2, broke it down to actually removing the pump, now I cant get it off the bolt to wich the only nut is removed. Seems that I need to remove the fan to get this all the way off. Is this so? Any tips? Thanks

Ya pull the fan... I pull the whole bracket usually then take the pump off.

I just turned the fan to the largest gap in the blades and worked it out

You can get it off without pulling the fan, but getting it back on and line up in the bracket, and on the stud is a huge PIA. I would just cut down the stud in the block an inch, and use it as a locating dowel. The other two bolts, along with the whole accessory bracket, are enough to keep it one there. Just my opinion

Why not remove the fan? It's not that hard.

X2 Just move the fan blades.. pretty simple.
