If you don't have the handy tool to remove the radio then grab some fine toothed jig saw blades - not the kind with ragged sharks teeth. Insert the blade's shank in the slot in the radio until you feel the resistance from the catch, that's about 1.5" in. Then use a putty knife at the top of the radio to pop it out.
