D2 Rear Door Leak

My rear door is leaking on the driver's side. It leaks at the top seal and water runs down the glass and into the speaker box mounted on the rear panel. I've only had the truck for 6 weeks, but apparently this has been going on for a while because I just had the rear door panel off for a CB antenna install and found quite a bit of water spotting behind the speaker grill. And it's not a drip here or there. It just rained pretty heavy the last few days and the whole top of the speaker trim was soaked. The seals on both the door and the door jamb look perfect, are supple, not cracked, not dry, and not deformed in any way.

Note that the truck is on hurricanes with the stock spare tire on the back. Why do I get the feeling this has to do with the weight of these piece of shit wheels being too heavy for the door? How do I go about fixing this?

A common problem. Had the same thing with mine. The fix was to use some of that black insulating sticky-back foam in between the upper door area and the factory rubber seal.

Ditto. Got some weather stripping from Auto Zone and put it around the door itself where it meets with the stock weather stripping on the body.
I just found mine after moving back to GA from AZ. It never rains there so I never knew I had a leak.

Same problem awhile ago, but I just loosened the hinges and realigned and tightened them back up. And by "I" I mean Corey.

We found that adjusting the striker plate to take the door deeper into the body helped a lot, then we tilted the top of the door in as well by adjusting the hinges. Doesn't take a lot.

The door is HEAVY, so you'll need a hand or a block of wood on a trolley jack to support it.

On the D2's you can get WD40 to the ends of the hinge bolts, by taking out the rear lights on the Passenger side in the USA or the Driver's side in the UK.
