I just installed my Steel Wheels from AB 16*7, it looks like the sills are rubbing under full lock. I run 265-75. Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks, RC

EDIT---Looks like TexMotoII Had no issues with rubbing? Hmm, I love these tires!

If I'm not mistaken the AB steel wheels are made by Procomp (at least the picture looks exactly the same.) When I put them on my P38 with 245/75's, I rubbed at full lock too. I had to trim a little. The offset is such that they stick out about 2 inches further than stock. After the trim, everything worked fine.

I know I'm running a different size tire and different truck, but that was my experience.

Awesome, THANKS! I figured I would have to cut some. :( Maybe I need to just get different tires......

I had the ProComp wheels, I got rid of them because of rubbing. I cut the front bumper and lower body sill panels. That wasn't too bad, but they rubbed really bad on the three screws on the underside of the front fenders, really badly cut up my tires. The last straw was when the tires tore out the rear srew on the passenger side and tore off the fender flare on that side. When I got home I bought a proper set of Rover wheels and have had no rubbing issues, save for the radius arms, but then we knew that. Oh yeah, D2, 2" lift, 265/75/16 MTs.

I can't recomend the non-factory steel wheels.

Hmm. That is sort of what I fear. I actually have no fender flares but I worry about blowing tires out! I am rubbing in the front and the rear, where my finger is pointed. I think my bumper is ok though.

So the sills are rubbed under full steering lock? What about stuffed and full lock? That's likely to give you the worst case scenario and you can trim from there. Once the sills are trimmed to the correct length, you can send them to Dave and have custom sliders built:D

well the only place so far I have issues is on the front fenders by the sliders, the rear is fine DONT BELIEVE ME FINE< I have longer rear links, and I trimmed the lip off my rear fender before and they dont hit the door on full stuff I flexed it yesterday lets put it this way with 14 in travel shocks and drop cones, the spring came off the cone and it still didnt hit the door! the front however I need to space the radious arms, and maybe trim an inch off the fender by the slider..

LOL Boys! You can tell a lot by someone's hands! ;)

Well Lane now we can be 'twinkies'! :p I am having some major vibes at 70+. I talked to Steve about it, he mentioned maybe a balancing issue or a bent rim :( . So I will have them re-balanced again and hopefully that will resolve the vibrations!

Lane should you be going 90mph in a Disco? :D

Are those the stock lug nuts? Did you have Marc make your silders in order to insure no 'rubbing'? It looks as though from your pic that you had/have the same issue I did. Are you rubbing under full lock on the sills in the front (or were you prior to install of sliders)? Or the body? or neither?

no marc dint make my sliders I made them, and When I first had my tires put on I had to cut my sills in the parking lot of the tire place LOL just to get home. Kinda funny.. And yes they are stock lugnuts,, actually I kinda like the look.. I took a pair of channell locks and I bent the inner front fender lip up all the way so it gives more room.. then on the rear I trimmed the inner lip off. Easy stuff.. Ohh and I didnt know I was driving 90 because my speedometer was off untill one day justin told me I was doing like 87 on the freeway everywhere we go.. :D lol

I like the tread pattern, looks like they can tear up some dirt. Wonder how long they would last if you drive on the road too?
Watch out for this...
and the front is clear though.
Mine are going and I know its gonna be expensive no matter what. Just walked in from looking at the back of the truck and there is a nice puddle of antifreeze under there probably hammered something yesterday in the river or hills...here we go again!
