Ok, the supplied method of securing the disconnected bar only works on one side, right? Then it is velcro strap or other ways to keep the other side from flopping around.
Bill from Kensington Motors in LV came up with a pretty 'slick' way to hold up both sides. He found quick-release pins at a hardware store, and fitted matching grommets in both frame sides. See passenger side pics: 1st shows bar connected (note circled grommet), 2nd shows securing pins (Strauns shown for size comparison), 3rd shows bar in disconnected position, 4th shows place to store securing pins and Strauns.
