D2 sway bars

Hey all,
I am running OME shocks and RTE heavy springs. I really want to get rid of the sway bars (front and rear) to help with articulation. Does anybody have first hand "street handling" characteristics with the bars removed and Hvy Dty suspension?
I know there is the quick disconnect option, but if I can get away without it....so much the better.

Thanks in advance.

What's the total lift?

I couldn't tell the difference with a 2" lift but I can now with the 3" (OME751 front, OME781 rear with 1" spacer).

I say take them off and test it. It's not hard to remove them, test, then reinstall in an afternoon.

I would suggest running without the rear first and see how you like it. I am not familiar with RTE springs, however with my OME springs my disco is pretty stable w/o both sways.

The RTE springs were 2" springs but I netted about 2-1/2"
And what about brake lines. Will dropping the sway bars cause my
lines to stretch past there breaking point?

Note: You can't remove the sway bars if you have the ACE system...the system will go nuts and keep hunting to level the truck. ACE also gives greater articulation than a non ACE truck.

Your OME shocks should not stretch further than the brake lines
