Hey guys,
I'm down here at the Nantahala river on vacation with my wife and kids.

This afternoon my D2 decided to develop a squeek that I was really hoping was just a tensioner pulley. Upon further investigation I found that the water pump has a little play in the shaft. :( :banghead:

I'm going to try to limp it home to Pitsburgh, but does anyone in the Ashville area have a water pump I could buy/borrow IF mine fails? If so, please PM me with contact info. (I promise I'll only call if all else fails.)

FYI...I'll be coming up 19/74, to 40, to 81 to 77 to 19 to 79...

Thanks,
Dave

I just replaced mine. Adv Auto had it in stock w/ the gasket, but had to check a couple stores in my area to find one. I checked the Adv Auto page and only the store below in the Asheville area shows they have one in stock, but best to call to be sure. When are you heading home? You could buy one for the trip, and then return it when you get home if you want to buy from another source. Nice insurance for the ride home. I assume you are taking I-26 from I-40 up to I-81. Johnson City or Kingsport would be the next cities where you may be able to pick one up at Adv Auto.

Thanks! The local parts places in Pittsburgh never, ever stock them, so it never occurred to me to even check them.

I'll plan to hit one of those stores on my way through...
