D2 wheel pattern on D1

Its probably been asked many times before, but will P255/60 R16 on 16" Land Rover Discovery Series II rims fit on a D1 ? I have a 2" lift ( OME's)
TIA, and yes, I did a search but found nothing that helped :)

By who? They would have to swap out axles and hubs, wouldnt they? Surely even if they did, what benefit would it have? You are looking at hundreds of dollars just to mount D2 wheels and tires. D2 wheels are no nicer than D1 wheels.

The bolt patterns are light and day. But, those tires would just about fit a 2" lift.

wheel adapters. ive seen 18" hurricanes on classic range rovers and d1s.. its would purely asthetic. i think its stupid, but it can be done..

Yes, Gil, that would explain it. Agreed, pointless path to take tho! Then again, when 90% of 'ideas' seen for modifications are pointless, [sacrasm on] I can see how some owners would just HAVE to have Hurricane wheels on a D1 because it would be so super cool and totally improve off-road ability and on road comfort!..:cool:
