4.0 from an 03? Not the original engine? When you say it wasn't "running well" what do you mean?

I could be mistaken on the 03 engine as it was not my vehicle but a friends. I do know it is a 4.0 so it is probably an 02. Previously I went off what he said his was.

It was missing, throwing codes and losing antifreeze. My friend found a used engine really cheap out of a wreck so he just swapped them.
