2000 d2 cranks but wont start. came in with misfires, replaced plugs and wires. then it wouldnt start. replaced CkPS and it sputtered to life then it ran perfectly fine. drove it a couple times with no problems. customer picked it up and drove it to the store and then it wouldnt start again. tried another CkPS and cam sensor, still nothing. no fault codes either. Fuel pressure has always been good. i've put a timing light on the plug wires and i'll get very random spark. Any ideas would be appreciated.

We had very similar issure, turned out to be a bad inside fuse panel. IDM in the fuse panel was bad. Had gone through several CKPS. Could still be a faulty new CKPS though, heard that 2 out of 10 new sensors can be bad new out of the box. Also check ecm grounds.

what kyle said, also check the header junctions under the passenger kick panel. the header junctions are all at the bottom of the wire harness, so any water runs to the bottom and corrodes the wires and pins.
in the past 5 years we've had 1 crank sensor that was bad, every other time it's either an alarm going high intermittent, corroded connectors, bad fuse panels, etc.
