I DD'd the 98 Disco for about 3 years, but alas I ran across a bit of money and the timing was right, so 05 WRX has taken over the roll of DD.

Let me tell you what, the WRX might not be that fast compared to others DDs but it's FAST compared to the disco, and I like fast.

Boring 2005 Honda Mini-van bitch mobile..... The D1 just keeps the driveway oiled. The honda gets beat on a daily basis by the kids, the dog, and me. I do have to say though, that as much as I hate the thing, it hasn't had any issues, it fits way more crap in it then the D1, and drives better too.

Oh no......a minivan! Please say it has a table somewhere to hold the fryer so that you can deep fry twinkies on the go!!:D

Nope, no table.. Hell, I haven't even used the fryer since the Thanksgiving turkey. Well wait, that's not totally true. I did use it to steam up some Alaska King Crab and some huge Spot Shrimp two weeks ago.

Two kids and the dog just don't fit in the Disco. Hell, I can't even fit my dogs travel crate in the Disco without folding the seats forward. The van can fit everyone with loads of room to spare. I hate it but, it's a necessary evil.

I am disappointed in your lack of fryer use!:D I don't put my dogs in crates in the back, they just chill in the cargo area and we use the roof to haul everything. We do fine with the two of us, two kids, and two dogs. I just cannot go minivan. Not yet.

No reason to be sorry..

I don't want or need another Land Rover. The only Rover I would want right now is a 130 crew cab and I gave up on that dream a long time ago. Been thinking about getting a Tacoma Crew Cab though.

The mini van is just some thing to go from point "a" to point "b" and it does that very well. It fits all of our crap and gets 28 mpg doing it.

The real trouble is going to start if my health gets better and my kids want to go camping. Then I'm going to have to figure out what to do since the van won't work and either will the Disco. At least the wife won't go. She hates that kind of thing.

Just two.. I also have a D1 with no rack. The kids are in car seats which takes up the back seat. All the stuff needed for camping pretty much takes up the back even without the dog crate. The dog's travel crate just doesn't fit without folding up the larger rear seat. My dog is also a large (tall not fat) 70 pound Weimaraner. It just doesn't work. I need to make a custom dog box for the truck, get one of those military trailers, rig it with a lid, a bumper dumper (for my ulcerative colitis), and a roof top tent on top of it.

Or just go camping without the kids. :)

Ahhhhh....no rack doesn't help. Both of my dogs are 70lbs, but they stay in the back because there is no room for them to jump in the second seat. I have been pondering a small trailer to pull behind the Disco, just because it can be a bitch to haul stuff up to the roof rack.

Currently my 00' DII. I'd like to pick up a second vehicle as funds allow sometime this year. I'll probably end up buying a used fullsize pickup. I really wouldn't mind finding myself a nice Dodge Power Wagon.

01 Volvo wagon or the 04 Golf. Would like to get the Series to the point I could use that. Eyeballing a number of DIIs lately though.
