I hate that nauseating inspirational crap.

Most successful people develop their self-esteem on their own. When someone tells someone over and over how special and wonderful he/she for their whole life, you end up with college kids that graduate and feel entitled to a fucking fantastic job and wouldn't dare think of mopping a floor because it's beneath them.

I like that, it's a clever double entendre (intentional or not).

Still, technically speaking, the floor in question is the one relative to the speaker's location. Hence, regardless of the number of stories in a building, "the floor" will indeed always be beneath you...
