I have only ordered Rover parts for a few years now but I always go to DAP first. They are very helpful and polite. I wish they had online ordering (its 2008...) but other than that its fine. I dont like to get in silly internet fights

This above, perfect example of him and his BS, as usual

I'm right here folks..
Steve felt threatened by my challenging him and is no longer 'comfortable' with my posting at odds with him. He's a 2 faced SOB, and a coward. Steve Young of D.A.P. is why DAP sucks

DAP is AWESOME! They got all the goods! Big Blue springs, Procomps shocks, T-Maxx winches, BIG bumpers, sweet roof racks.......I think they even sell the engine rebild pellets!!! You just drop those suckers right into your engine and BAM! it's like new.

Pellets are for heating homes and falling out of rodents asses. Helpful tip I thought I should share.

You should judge a supplier on price and performance. Giving a shit about someone's message board posts just demonstrates your own shallowness.

My quantitative experience with DAP -- I bought a steering guard and a diff guard. Good price, quick shipping, good packing, good quality product.

I've had similar experiences with Rovers North, Atlantic British, British Pacific, Expedition Exchange, Rovertym, Paul Grant, Hellroaring, Rock Ware, Viking Offroad, and other suppliers this board probably doesn't know.

I think you pretty much get what you give. You get your panties in a knot, you're asking to be disappointed.

You may have gottena good price, and good packing......but you would not know good quality if it stuck you in the ass. Thier product line sucks - its like JC Whitney.

I would not buy from them again because of the BS I got after their product broke. They did end up replacing it but only after trying to make it seem like it was my fault.

You're going to have to link to the actual post, not the thread. I can't find the BS.

Just go to muddyoval and look for any posts by our beloved steve young, its ALL BS, ALL DAY..

you shouldnt have much trouble finding the BS; pick any topic...

I'm pretty sure you don't know enough about my ass to make that call.

How bad can two steel brackets and a hunk of aluminum be? I've seen (in person, not on a web page) steering guards from a number of vendors, including the vaunted Southdown and Equipe brands. The one from DAP is just as good, and they had the best price when I was shopping.

The clamp-on diff guards are ALL the same, I don't care who sells them. It may not be a QT wrap around or sewer cap, but it meets my current needs.

Why are there so many angry people on this board? :ack:

I never said he doesn't BS sometimes. But you referenced a specific thread as being BS, just asking for where it is. Unless you're bs'ing too.

Actually, they're pretty bad. At the 2004 MAR event, I saw a DAP skid-plate fold up like a pancake on a Freelander. Steve tried to say the skid was not installed properly.....because it's always someone elses faught that the product sucks.

On Steve's personal Freelander, I whitnessed the "rock sliders" basically pop off the truck. This was when Steve rolled his Freelander in a mud puddle and needed a sideways pull from a winch to get his truck righted. Steve claimed that the slider were not intended for this use....... I say, try it on a pair of Rovertym sliders and see if they fall off.

If you're going to build something, build it right. ARB has some POS bumpers, but people love them for off-road use. If you're driving a pavement ponder, the ARB is fine; but don't come around saying it's "just as good", because it's not.

I've never bought anything from them and wouldn't. Always believed that word of mouth was the best advertising a business can have and to prove that point on this board you have DAP and then you have RTE, EE, etc. Why buy from somebody who has a whole lot of people who have been f*cked over when you can go to a vendor like EE (whom I've ordered from) and not get the BS? just my .02.

Uh, I thought we were talking about off-road accessories for off-road vehicles. But, good to know -- I won't order any parts for the wife's CR-V from DAP.

If you're going to build something, build it right.
I do.

Bumpers! Well I'll be damned. I thought those were anchors. Or snow plow blades.

If you're driving a pavement ponder, the ARB is fine; but don't come around saying it's "just as good", because it's not.
I drive a '92 RRC. It is not a dedicated trail truck, it's like many other people's trucks -- a compromise that allows me to drive it on or off road. My experience with the two DAP accessories I own is that they perform to my expectations. I realize that you don't agree with my opinion, but I didn't ask you to.

I also realize I'm :banghead: . I'll stop now.

overall DAP ain't bad, my issue is they tend to carry sub par parts. if the price looks good, chances are that its because its not Genuine OR even OEM its like britpart shit or allmakes which tend to cut corners to save a penny, because of that I tend not to shop from them.

AB pulls that shit sometimes too and pisses me off. RN I just haven't been fucked by them yet so I have no complaints there.
