Where was that picture taken with the dirt road and barn? It's not in Rockbridge is it?

Honestly, I have no fucking clue. I was out for a drive and got wayyyy lost. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure I was some place between Sugar Grove, WV and Highland County, VA. If had to get there again, I probably couldn't.

This is an interesting photo, though.

This is a picture on top of Shenandoah MTN at the cross roads; I'm sitting on the road that leads to Flag Pole Knob; to the right is the road leading to Sugar Grove, WV; and in the middle is the road leading to Redish Knob.

This is the Virginia/West Virgina state line. Notice, it's snowing in West Virginia, but it's not snowing in Virginia. Weird.

You are a dickhead, Eric.

Had a little luck today. Thought I was bagging two skinheads, but one was a button buck.

The Doe (left) was shot while quartering away. The bullet entered just in front of the right shoulder and exited mid-body on the opposite side. She ran about 40-yards and folded up. The blood trail was pretty intense.

The button buck was broadside, and the bullet hit just behind the shoulder. Of course, it exited and looked like he was hit with a golf ball. He was dead before he hit the ground. Total heart explosion.

Both deer were taken at ~60 yards.

I have to come down and hunt with you for a week next year Dan. Does Virginia offer temporary licenses for out of state hunters?

There is a three day hunting license for $46, the annual is $86. Then in addition you need to buy a big game license for another $66. That gets you up to 5 deer, a bear, a couple of turkeys. If you are doing archery or muzzleloader add another $31 each. If you are hunting in National forest you need a $4 stamp.

nice! whether its fishing or hunting, it never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can be. there are size limits, bag limits, and seasons for a reason, as well as when you can and cant hunt during those seasons, yet so many fucking people still don't get it and think the rules don't apply to them/

Got the LR3 stuck for the first time last night at deer camp. Was trying to illuminate a trail for dumping guts and got stuck.

Next time you're there make sure and stop off at the new brew pub in Centre Hall.

I miss all the great streams and rivers in PA. VA doesn't have anything like them. Actually PA has more miles of streams than any other state in the country. Penns Creek is one of the best in the country too.

Try accessing Penns Creek from Poe Paddy too. Lots of great areas and a nice hiking trail as well.

You wouldn't happen to be talking about The Frosty Hook would you. They have great food. I also found a pub in State College called Otto's Brew Pub I believe. If you ever get the chance swing by and try their beer I prefer the "Otto's Double D IPA".

The great thing about Penn's Creek is it's a special regulation trout stream. I think the minimum length is 14", we've pulled trout 16" in length out.

Also if you want a great view drive up to Penn's View it overlooks that entire valley, you can look right down to the creek.

As far as my hunting goes saw a lot of doe and no buck. I did however come across something that just flat out pissed me off; I found what I believe was about 6 deer carcasses and 2/3 of a bear. The deer were half-assed butchered and the bear (or what was left) was halfway skinned (found some of the pelt 10' away) decapitated, and they took 3 of the paws with them. I couldn't belive it, what a waste
