Defender 110 Crew-Cab retrofit ...

Retrofit

Finaly sold the 02 Disco and am now planing my import of a Defender 110.

The question I had was to know how hard and expensive can it be to take a crew-cab and make it a CSW ( county station wagon )?

Dont get me wrong I do like the idea of the crew-cab but with the winter here the extra space from the CSW is realy practical with two kids to drive around. And also the fact that the lady wanted a CSW.

One more question, how much weight can be caried in the cargo area and how long is it?

Always looking forward to all your inputs.

Thanks

Pat

Why not just start with a non-crew cab version? If you mean a D130 crewcab, then I have seen a conversion done where they chopped a roof down to fit over the back and then used rear 1/2 doors. It was in one of the mags.
The rear space on a 110 is roughly 42" long behind the seats, about 56" wide, with the space between the wheel wells at 36".

Try these guys, I found them in one of my LRM magazines and decided to (just out of curiosity) email them to find out what model years they carried for the 110 ex- Dutch MoD's 2.5 diesels that they advertised in their ad. And these are left-hand drives. Anyhow, their response was that they are supposedly model years 86-89. Here's a link to their site. Click on "current stock" on the left side and there should be a link for the LHD (left-hand drives).
