Why not just replace the handle? Not worth rebuilding the assembly, imho

Plenty of good used parts guys on DWeb, Will Tillery for example

Maybe you are right? I tried contacting Will through discoweb. Do you have any email or web address for him? Anyone else out there I should try? Anyone out there have a driver side door handle for sale?

Thanks for your help.

Yeti....I finally became a member of Discoweb. I tried to get approved a few months ago but I guess I fell through the cracks and never got a reply from the administrator. I have been watching the posts off and on but want to become an active member now. I have 1995 Disco and that was one of the first things I had to fix on mine. I have no clue why someone hasn't reproduced the plastic parts you need (and I needed too!) I have found a 1998 Disco 1 in a local wrecking yard that I have been getting parts off of and one of the things I got was the drivers door handle with the plastic pieces. If you still need the parts, let me know, I will sell you the whole handle for $40 plus shipping. Its alot better than $340ish for a new assembly.

If you are patient you can make this out of a piece of aluminum flat from Lowes for a couple of dollars. I had this happen a few years ago and made it with a dremmel tool and hack saw using the original as a pattern. Did not take that long and works great. I think I lost the pictures but will look for them. I remember I did not worry with the raised area I could not duplicate.
