Detroit was covered under warrenty through Tractech. However, it did take about 6 weeks to get back, calling almose everyday

Hmmm...Steve - we never considered this route. I will try to call Trachtech this week and see if I can send both yours and mine in. If they will warranty it you may have a spare Detroit.

The power goes to the path of least resistance. Unless you are proped up agenst a rock/wall/stump/whatever, or you are holding the brake, the front, 90% of the time, will break loose first, on a D1.

that does not mean that 90% of power is sent to the front. Either you don't care to express yourself carefully, or you have no idea how does the differentiated four wheel drive work.

Good idea. Tell them they're only 6 months old and you lost the receipts.

Dont tell them they were broke due to a broken axle though ;) I don't think they warrenty "tention overload", although, I'm sure they know how it broke....I forget who I talked with over there, but he was pretty cool with the whole thing, just very slow...

I'd pay big $$ to see Kyle run against the CJ guy (Seth) at the Cove.

Piss on who's locker makes the least noise.

PS
Mike N, Dan C, contact me sometime. Let's get together and hit the trails. I'm selling my series truck, but still have the Disco and am getting ready to build up the wife's 80 series LC (those dual electric lockers are just too sweet not to wheel...)

I am posting this because my problem was solved by just using a heavier gear oil. I used an 85W-140 Mobil gear oil in my Detroit Locker and since then all the sounds and awkward behaviour of the locker have gone.

Too tired of reading everything in the post but, I had GBR send me my thirds complete with 4.10's and Detriot soft locker and it clicks on tight turns but I have only heard it clunk 1 or 2 times in real bad trail situations over the last 3 years, so I would have to agree with Kyle.

Detroits clunk.

It's not gonna hurt nothing.

Quit crying about it.
