Changing out a fuel pump in the morning and thought I'd share some more cross reference info.

I've previously used a Master (Made by Airtex) E3240 quite successfully in a 3.9 DI. And the 3240 is listed in several threads and on the dweb cross reference tech page.

However several threads and other sources call for using a E3270 for the 4.0 found in '96s or newer. There is generally a little price difference between the two, but wanted to share the actual technical differences/specs of the two.

E3240:
- Gallons per hour: 40
- PSI shut off: 65-95
- Type: Rollervane
- Volts: 12

E3270:
- Gallons per hour: 50-60
- PSI shut off: 80-90
- Type Rollervane
- Volts 12

The cases and wiring are the same for both.

Hope this helps out if you were going the replacement route for a fuel pump.

Yes, installed the Master E3270 on the 4.0 GEMS '96.

All in all, pretty simple sway, like the 3.9 was, though there are a few other things to note. The very good write up on doing the conversion/replacement calls for 1/2" line when it should likely be 5/16" fuel injector line. You'll see this on the output of the pump, so it'll be obvious when you go to put it on there, but it's nice to know before you buy the line and get home. Doesn't take terribly long, though this is the third one I've done now.

The worked very well and put 40psi right on the rail when I put the key to ON position as it should.

Also, note the E3270 does NOT come with any wiring harness. The E3240 does. The guy at Autozone just gave me swapped out the bag from the E3240 so I was able to wire it up.
