DI tranny pan on a DII

ok this may be a stupid question but...the DII doesnt have a tranny dipstick.....the DI does...I have a extra tranny pan off a DI with the tube....will it fit a DII? from just looking the pan seems to be the same and there seems to be enough clearence along the firewall but will the dipstick of a DI read right? thanx all....Cheers!

To confirm that the dipstick is reading correctly on the new setup, make sure your existing setup is filled to a known good level, then save the fluid when you swap pans, refill, and see where it ends up on the new dipstick.

This pan-swap is a good idea. I might just do it myself.

Next tranny service I was planning on the same replacement. Things to consider. Fill the tranny as if you still have the D2 pan on. The fill hole isn't on the pan, its on the tranny. Then see where the level is on the D1 dipstick. I'm to lazy to look at the Rave filling conditions for the D1. Maybe a D1 owner can answer this. Do you check the fluid while hot and running or cold with engine not running?
