DI Washer reservoir removal

I have always hated how much room the DI washer reservoir takes up. Who really needs a 2 gallons of fluid on a truck that's driven 6-7 weekends a year. There are far better thinks that space can be used for. So when my reservoir started leaking last year it came out. I've been trying to find a decent replacement since. I did put that space to good use though.

I finally found a cheap decent sized reservoir on amazon that worked out well and for $14.77 you really can't beat it. It even comes with a new pump and every thing needed to hook it up.

So if you're a cheap bastard like me and want to have more room for stuff under the hood. Here is an option. Plus to he spray is much stronger than the old worn out factory pump.

I did the same thing with my D2 as I had to relocate the washer bottle due to having the RTE front bumper. Your setup looks a lot nicer than mine did though!

Ew that truck is filthy

It's a trail truck not a show truck. But if it bothers you that much I'll drop it off at your house on my way back from SAE and you can wash it for me.

I did actually wash the outside of the truck yesterday. Which was the first time since I got it back last summer. I even used soap. Well the engine is coming out this winter anyway so maybe I'll clean the engine bay while I have it out.

I don't get it. What's funny about using rivets? Is there some rule against using rivets to secure things?

Tobias,

Rivets are fine considering those relays will probably never need replaced. But you could've used the same relays so it looks pretty.

half of the fuses in the truck also will never blow up. Would you rivet them?
I don't think I'd ever rivet a relay socket with a mounting tab - let alone a relay.

Nah, then I would have to buy matching relays. Other than the hella ones that came with the lights the rest have been salvaged out of other trucks. They all work the same and are hidden under my dirty hood. So it's all good :)

As far as replacing them that's a 10 second job with a 3/16th drill.

Peter,
I've never seen a fuse with a mounting tab.

Tobias,
You know that I know that aluminum rivets drill out like butter but you should've use zip ties....they're cheaper.

Ok, how do you secure your relays? Seriously, I'd like to know. I'm always open to learning better ways of doing things. I may never do it but I'd at least like to know.
