First of all the vehicle is a 1997 Disco w/ the 4.0 liter.

1) I have a check engine light for a bad catalytic converter so I was wondering wheres the best place to buy a true replacement, not one where I will have to keep clearing codes and whatnot.

2) Recently an ABS light came on but the ABS and my breaks work fine, maybe a little sensitive but fine. I will go get the code checked but all I notice is a faint ticking sound coming from the front drivers side when my windows down.

3) Im getting vibrations/clatter through the floorboards on both sides. I think it may be stronger on the drivers side but my dad was riding shotgun today and noticed it right away on his side. These rattles dont coincide with anything except maybe small cracks in the road but are starting to scare the hell out of me because it feels like a heavy vibration.

4) Well my fob for the locks stopped working altogather for some time now. At first it slowly died and was requiring me to hit it something like 6 times to work. Now it doesnt work at all. If I lock the doors by key the central locking unit works fine but it does not set the alarm, which I dont know if its even supposed to do or not. I have tried all sorts of various thing but never gotten it to work so right now I'm without an alarm in some bad areas.

5) I get a very loud whine from the radio that coincides with the engine. You guys have already diagnosed this as alternator whine but what I was wondering was whether or not I could fix this without checking every ground/replacing the alternator somehow.

6) My Disco has the genuine foglights on the brush guard but stopped working. They are both not working, I have power at the switch and at the fuse inside. I find it hard to believe that both bulbs would burn out so is there some sort of inline fuse for it in the engine compartment?

I probably sound like a whining idiot, which I probably am but I was just hoping that by some chance in hell I might be able to figure out a couple of these problems within the next couple days. There are many more problems but these are the ones that actually bother me. Any info about any of this stuff would be useful. Thanks.

Wow, I have precisely the same lot of issues. The most annoying for me was always (5), but it was recently negated by:

7) Stereo stops working entirely.

By true I guess you mean Genuine then you would have to go through a Rover parts dealer. But it will be expensive.

I would make sure the breaks are all in good shape and then pull the bulb unless you are really concerned about the ABS working. Previous owner pulled the bulb in mine and breaks work fine.

I would check the bushings on your Radius control rams and all other suspention components.

Have you checked the battery in the Remote? Also there is a method of partially arming the Alarm using the keys I read about it once in RAVE. My key does not work on my doors so I've never tried it.

Check your fuses and then check to see if you have power at the lights themselves. Pull connector plugs and check the contacts with a multi meter.
