I know that the front and rear Truetracs (TT) have different part numbers but I was wondering what the differences are between the front Truetrac and the rear Truetrac. I have the opportunity to buy a front TT for a good price but want to throw install it in my rear diff for now.

Will there be any issues with doing this? Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Truetracs aren't a locking diff, they are gear driven limited slip. The gears in front and rear are cut in opposite directions so that they engage when a wheel slips. Keep in mind that your front and rear diffs face in opposite directions. The only way a front one would work in the rear is if you only ever drove in reverse.

(edited to say truetracs "aren't" instead of "are". That was one hell of a typo! )
