DII front propshaft on D1?

I searched around and couldn't find a refrence, but am sure I saw it before. Anyway, my question is, if I replace the DI front output flange with one from a DII (assuming it will fit) will a DII front propshaft (with the double cardan) fit my DI?

Tom, I was wondering the samething. I found a guy at MAR selling a D2 shaft for 30.00, he said it needed to be rebalanced, no big deal. I asked around and what I found out was on some D1's the flange on the Transfercase side needed to be changed. I'm not sure if this is accurate, but maybe you can check into at least that. It may differ from year to year, I'm not sure. Length is close I belive.

Yes, the D2 double cardin will fit the D1. You need a 29mm socket on an impact to change the flange.
