DII Front Wiper

Well my wife has been driving my DII and now I have to pay up. We had a foot of wet snow yesterday and she used the wipers to clear the windshield rather than clearing it first.

So now the driver side wiper is broken. It's either the drive wheel or the motor.

How hard are these to get to? I've seen posts that talk about removing the hood to get to it? Has anyone replace the drivers side motor themselves?

check to make sure the arm is not just loose on the shaft. take the arm off, clean the splines with a wire brush and reinstall the arm making sure it is tight and positioned correctly. ive never had a wiper linkage fail on a d2 but that dosent mean you cant be the first. just start with the easy stuff.
