I thought GBR was the only game in town for the fronts on a DII.

Yep, monopoly <sigh>.

Craig

Yes Bill is also the only supplier in the States for fronts too, they just happen to be Ashcroft fronts made in the States. Go figure.

You can buy the front straight from Ashcroft, or at least you could in the past. Ashcroft is supposed to have rears coming also, I'm not sure when though...

Are the maxi drive rear's still available? Didn't maxi drive finally call it quits a while ago?

When theres more demand than supply sadly you can afford to lack in the customer service department....If you can get a hold of Bill at GBR he will talk your ear off and give you advice on anything rover related and can be very helpful.....Has anyone on here ever offered to do a website for him in exchange for parts? If i had any skills i would be all over it, it seems like a win win for both parties....FYI currently bill is working with ARB to develop a 3inch D2 suspension Kit, but its still in the early stages, found that out talking to him yesterday

thanks - didn't realize EE was the same price as buying direct from GBR. i was under the impression from dweb that EE was overpriced on everything.

Bill will still sell at suggested retail price. He will work with you but the price will remain the same (that's been my experience).

Cheers,

Mike

Craig and FlyfisherII,

why the 'monopoly' and 'go figure' attitude ?

with referance to the D2 fronts and rears, I soley developed these 2 products with RCV in the US and I sell them worldwide, in the US GBR stocks them.

wheres the problem in that ?

I do not have the monoply designing and making D2 axles, anyone else can go ahead and make their own version but as far as I am aware I am the only person that has done it and has stock. Obviously Maxidrive have made rears in the past but are no longer able to supply.

Why only one US dealer?

No offense Dave. The go figure was probably the wrong choice of words. I meant "how ironic" ie made in the States but sold by a UK company nothing offensive. As for the monopoly word. It appears as such not that it is. You are correct in that anyone that has the infrastructure could indeed build them if they choose too. I appreciate the fact that you all are designing DII HD stuff. It is just that indeed there is only one company doing it hence "mono"poly (one). It's not technically a monopoly but you must see the perception. Don't worry we are just a bunch of pissed off LR enthusiasts that are trying to keep our trucks up and with good parts. With rising costs everywhere, especially gas, it is becoming more and more aggravating. I don't drive my truck much anymore, mostly for off road trips or to run the carbon out and work the mechanicals of it now and then. It just doesn't make sense. So if you felt I was coming down on you individually then let me tell you I wasn't. It is simply a general observation overall related to the whole industry/hobby.

Cheers,

Mike

Offense taken, why is that there was more than one vendor selling them, at a lesser cost, and now there's only one US distributor? It's a monopoly...

Let's put it this way. Is there a non-douchebag source for front and rear D2 axles?
