My old pump just leaked. No real noise or difference in performance. It just leaked. I changed over to a used unit and it leaks the same way.

It appears that once the unit is unbolted from the block the gasket starts to leak and then doesn't stop leaking. I have my old pump apart on the bench. The gasket is a super thin piece of plastic with some rtv on one side and what appears to be high tack on the other.

Have you or someone you know resealed one of these pumps? If so with what?

Any cheap replacements out there for the whole pump?

I got the replacement used so it could have been bad.

I am not seeing any shaft walk or any play. No noise either. Just leaks around the gaskets.

I had a reman go bad, so I got a used one from Marty. For good measure I used RTV that is oil/gas resistant all around the exterior seam. I left the original gasket in place. So far so good

I got mine from Marty as well. It didn't leak when I got it only after the install. It dripped a bit at first. I then removed it to replace the front cover gasket and now it leaks quite a bit more. Same with the original pump. No leaks until I removed it and then BAM leaks like a bitch on reinstall.:banghead:

And you sure its not the hose thats bad? It could be running down and making it seem like its leaking from the seam.

It started leaking bad when it was upside down awaiting the front cover gasket. No pressure. It also doesn't leak worse when running.

I will check it again though.
