Fresh rebuild on 4.6. No codes, runs great. Smooth idle, very responsive.

The problem is that every so often (I've not noticed ANY pattern) when you put it into reverse the idle drops and it stalls out. You try to give it gas and nothing happens except it stalls. If you don't try to give it gas, it stalls.

Put it in park and it fires right up. Throw into reverse and it's fine. It has never done this twice in a row.

Really has me stumped because I can't think of ANY wires that are affected by going into reverse that would cause this.

It's almost as if going into reverse kills the fuel pump - but like I said, this only happens randomly.

It has never stalled when going into drive or N.

This has really got me scratching my head!

I think if it was killing the fuel pump it would take a bit longer before it stalled. If you pull a fuel pump fuse most cars take a while to use up the fuel already in the fuel rail.I kind of wonder if your crank sensor is starting to take a shit. Strange it only happens in reverse. Maybe clean the throttle and look for vacuum leaks and what have you.
