AdrianS and JohnC at www.4x4ag.com ... they have the cheapest solution for doing the 04 CDL upgrade... thats the LR OEM one.. if you want to go cheaper, you can pick up a D1 linkage from someone parting out used vehicles (will tillery)

I take it you're one of the lucky '01 owners with the CDL nipple? If so then you can buy the above named expensive ones or cheap out for the DI unit which will work the same way, jsut with some small bending on the t/c high/low arm.

EE used to have a great tech article on it, but that disappeared about 2 weeks ago, anyone know why?

Some folks don't like an electric solenoid, it can fail.

The ones we sell are the original LR kits, it even comes with the original sticker that shows you how to engage the CDL.

If you bought it from us then it should've come with the sticker. If you didn't receive the sticker then I will send one out right away.

What are the advantages disadvantages other than $185 TWR vs $700 EE of the DI used kit over the DII'04 new kit???

John, feel free to email me separately as well. I want to get something in the truck ASAP just want to make sure I purchase the right item. I dont want install problems or downstream (literally and figuratively) problems.

Thanks,

Joe

Somehow I knew I would be crossing paths with Tidewater again. The RAVE CD has been an invaluable tool for me and I belive my EX got her replacement TC from TWR at a substantial savings.

By the way, I noticed you have some 03-04 headlights, how much for a driver side if i buy the CDL kit too at the same time???

I have the DI linkage.

Had the 04 been out at that time, I would have used that instead. I think I am going to replace my D1 linkage with an 04 linkage in the near future, just to set things right. Nothing wrong with the D1, it's just the 04 was designed for the DII.

Cheers,

Kennith

Sorry, No I didnt buy it from you.
Actually, I bought 04' Shiter from EE long time ago when they first came out.
Yeah, I think back then we weren't even carrying the CDL kits. Since you've purchased from us before I'll see if I can find an extra sticker and send it to you.
