I'm contemplating buying a 2001 DII with ACE. I like the way the system makes the truck drive.

Is ACE compatible with a 2"-3" lift?

Yes.
I have a 2000 DII with ACE and the 2" Old Man Emu lift. I bought the heavy duty springs all around. I am amazed at the ride. Its rides the same if not better.

I bought my '01 SE7 with ACE abouth six months ago; I like the way it rides. My is pretty much stock but I have some mods planned in the early future.

Some people will complain about the sound that the ACE pump makes as you drive specially at lower speeds. After a couple weeks you will get used to it.

Good luck

Thanks for the information. The ACE pump surprised me also because of the noise.

Is the ACE system high maintenance?

~2" lift, ACE is fine. Go to 3" or more lift and you will want to buy a pair of front downlinks and put them in the rear (they're about 3-4cm longer). This will help to set the angle at rest for the active bar close to stock. THere might be another option for the front links, like adjustable disconnects, but this is still an unknown.

So far, other than a minor pipe leak and changing the fluid every year or so, no other maint. The dealer tells me to come in and do a TestBook flush (apparently it can reverse the valves in the valve block), but I haven't done it yet.

Some have said that changing out the fluid will help alleviate the groaning, I have not found this to be the case, though mine does not groan loudly.
