Not sure what is so funny... I do not think the chime comes on when the blue tooth activates.... Oh and by the way "dickhead", "moron" and "Smart Guy" are not nice things to call someone.

well if thats the case kind sir, then dont come on here with an attitude when people are trying to help you figure out what your little problem is. and whats wrong with smart guy? in some circles thats a compliment.

Is there anyone else out there with an LR3 that dings for no apparent reason?

Apparently Not.

If your LR3 is dinging (or dinging and donging) there is usually a message in the info center as well. The only "ding" I get on a regular basis is the temp. warning. It dings, then dongs, if you exceed a max speed and are in off-road or access mode, or go over an established MAX speed. Those are the noises I experience.

Could be you are dinging for a reason and the info center is not relaying the message. Take your LR3 to the dealer and make them deal with the issue. If they can't, or won't, deal with it go to another dealer. I doubt this is the issue but make sure they have updated all your software. My 05 went in for an oil change one day and they did a computer upgrade and I got a nice little italicized "i" that shows when there is a message warning.

Ditto what jhobbs said on the dings and dongs I've experienced in our HSE.

Hope you have a good dealer, because if it is some random, buried-in-the-books type of fault, it may take some searching to find the answer.

Please post when you find out... some day a teenager with a twelve year old LR3 will do a "dong" search on DWeb and may need the info, much as the D1 guys of old once did for other random faults on their then-new Landie called the DISCOVERY... :D

Its not the bluetooth. And there is still no Message in the message center. I took the car to the dealership for a different problem and told them about this. They said there was nothing they could do if they could not recreate the problem.

It happened two times today.

Give your vehicle to the dealer and have a manager drive it for a while and demand they solve the problem (get a loaner of course) Give them the same attitude you gave here, it's acceptable at the dealer ;)

I agree. For what an LR costs, the dealer should be stumbling over himself to fix the situation. You should demand no less.

Is there anyone else out there with an LR3 that dings for no apparent reason? My LR3 dings all the time. It’s not cold enough for it to be the freezing chime. It happens when I am slowing down or accelerating. At low speeds and high. The dealership did not know anything about it.

Thoughts?

close your door and put your seatbelt on :smilelol:

Just an FYI. I had a few quirky problems (believe it or not) with my LR3. The service department was kind of dismissive saying, well if it comes back, then let us know. I sent a very long e-mail to the general manager followed by a phone call to ensure that he read it. His assistant took my call. I stressed that he needed to read my message and respond. He called back in less than an hour apologizing, asking what he could do to take care of me. He offered to come pick up my LR3 and leave me a loaner, etc. They are going through it with a fine tooth comb to make sure the problem is solved. It worked for me...you may want to try that route. Good luck.
