Directions to Truckhaven

I'm meeting a friend out in Truckhaven. But it's been so long since I've been there myself I can't seem to remember how to tell him to get there. He will be coming from the L.A. area, which would be I-10 to Hwy 86, but that's all I got so far. We'll both likely need gas once we get there so meeting at a gas station would be ideal. However, if I remember correctly there's a little gas station close to the entry point, but they do not take credit cards. There's an Arco/Ampm a little bit North, which might be a good place to meet. But what's the cross street?

Anyway, suggestions from those of you who have a memory would be helpful.

There's a kickass new 76 station on Hwy 86S much closer to the trailhead which is on Marina Dr.

Yep, premium was $2.89/gl there two weekends ago when it was $3.35/gl in Indio!

The trail head is at N. Marina Dr.? OK, I thought it was a bit north of that, so I would have certainly passed it :/.

The Unocal 76 station is not far north of Marina Dr (trailhead) on S86. You can't miss it and I don't remember a cross street as it's right on the west side of S86.
