Where does the excess coolent come out? Is there a hose on the tank?

I ask because some coolent dripping from my D1 (I just bought a couple of months ago). When I investigated I saw coolent dripping out of the side if the coolent tank. I checked the coolent temp after my trucked cooled and it appeared to level and the dripping could have been just access coolent, (I did add a little coolent before I drove it.)

Coolent was leaking from the seam of the bottle.

I topped off my coolent just before driving. It appears that I must of added a little too much coolent, maybe 1 cup too much. I drove until my truck got nice and warm and then parked it in my driveway. That is when I noticed the coolent coming out of the seam of the bottle. It did this for about 5 minutes and then stopped, once it got to about level of the seam.

I was not sure if this was normal or my bottle was bad.

Thanks for the help.

I have one of the old black tanks which seems to be prone to leaking, according to past posts.

Looks like an easy fix, 3 small bolts and two hose clamps. The only hard part is ordering the tank. Joking

I did all the checks suggest and I just have a cracked expansion tank with no other damage and I just recieved my new tank. The job appears simple enough, (I still have collent in my old bottle and never over heated or went below the min coolent level.)

It looks like I just need to:
1. remove three bolts
2. loosen hose clamps on two hoses, (drain excess coolent from bottle to container)
3. pull hoses from old tank to new tank
4. tighten hose clamps
5. bolt new tank in place
6 fill with fluid and put cap back on

Do I need to worry about air bubbles if I never dropped below the min coolent level in my expanttion tank?

What is the bet method to get air bubbles out of coolent?

Before you bolt it back in, hold it up higher and fill it. Bolt it in. Run it til warm then let it cool back down and check level again. You should be fine
