Surely yours will go for more than the red one AbnMike

agree it should as well, yet, time will tell.

but then I'd be tempted to jump in and drive it, which then results in it rusting to pieces.

in the same spot with both of mine. if we have fresh snow on our dirt back road and the township hasn't hit it yet, I'll take them for a spin. other than that mostly just wait until Spring and heavy rains clean the roads. really, really hate the use of salt and worse the liquid salt mixture crap.

GLWS as very nice Disco.

I'm glad to see them selling for a little more. It's getting harder to find clean examples and then they only fetch about what it takes to make a good one. I asked because I have one that I plan to get sorted then sell it. Far as I've gotten is getting it out of my garage and 50 miles to the shop. It's the cleanest truck I've started with for sure. O2 sensors actually came right out of the pipes when I got it 2 years ago. Thats like voodoo shit up here in Illinois.

The painted valve covers scare me. Every one with painted covers on Craigslist just needs a waterpump

Not making the connection?

I removed the covers to replace the gaskets. Since they were out I cleaned them and decided to add color to the engine bay.

I also posted photos of the motor with them removed and I?m betting there are very few rovers with 179k miles that look that clean and fresh.

I also am running perfect 0.0 LTFT, and as my many posts on here can attest I?m meticulous and chase down any problem no matter how small.

Given the maintenance, extreme attention to detail, entirely new brake and fuel system some here may feel they can ?churn them out? but it won?t be cheap nor timely.

I don’t think anyone who bothered looking past the roof rack before commenting would think this was churned out either. It’s been a long purposeful build and proven itself with NWOL expeditions and with me.

Stupid fucking iPhone ? Marks...

If you like them painted then paint them. But it's not original. I like to keep my shit original. Original oil and filter too.

It may not be churned out but who is on BAT? At this point it is beyond people who know anything about what goes into making one of these work well and last and more people who are searching for a vehicle with "that look".

Plenty of people have explained how much it takes to build a vehicle to a good standard but in the end you have a Discovery that has had a lot of engine work that you can't sell for what you have into it. The look is what sells these for higher prices(reference every Defender sale ever).

That's what I meant by churn them out if yours sells for high dollars. As much as I care about mechanical foundation on my trucks, that isn't what sells used Land Rovers for high prices.

Fair enough. Just didn?t want anyone thinking this one was lipstick on a pig.

I paid a premium but it?s rust free and all the hard work was done. I had expected to keep it for years.

Those are the people who go to Kelly blue book and find out it's worth $2500 tops. I'm not trying to make a killing on mine. Just want my money back out of it. I figure I will. If people are getting 10 to 12 grand for them then your going to see more people put effort into them.

That one went for $15k. For $15k i want new head gaskets

Do people keep missing that ones mine? It?s not like I?m not posting in this thread.

Gaskets and entire top end rebuilt 30k ago. How new do they have to be?

I?d like to see anyone else with 0.0 LTFT numbers, and every other OBDII live status in spec on a no rust Discovery with no codes and everything working.

Everything.

I think it went higher than the 97 due to better photos, driving videos, etc.. the guy who bought it is an avid off roader not a parking lot Queen.
