Disco 1 Rear bumper: to replace/upgrade or not??

A buddy backed into my D1 this am and sort of wrenched the (stock)rear bumper. It is definetly damaged and might be able to be fixed, but the end cap is scratched, LHS light frames are ajar, and the bumper has a horizontal bow in it. His volvo was screwed!:smilelol: I am guessing a body shop will want to replace the bumper (friend would like to pay out of pocket). Do you think this is time to upgrade and if so, what do you guys like, suggestions?

Definitely upgrade. If you're paying money to fix the D1 bumper, you're crazy. A nice RTE or $G would be nice. I think the RTE is a lot stronger. Check out HLC too.

upgrade. i made my factory D2 rear bumper explode last october thanks to a tree that jumped out at me while reversing in a camp site lol (dumb i know). the price to buy a new stock bumper, trim piece, and lower taillight was already 2/3 of the price of a brand new RTE bumper. I planned on upgrading the bumper down the road, so why not make the best of a shitty situation.

upgrade for sure. you may have to put a little bit more out of pocket, but if you plan on wheeling it or upgrading down the road it should be a no brainer

If you can find a used aftermarket upgrade bumper and save your buddy a couple bucks then everyone wins.
