For about a year my rev counter needle was flickering wildly which I ignored, now it has completely stopped working. Any ideas where to look to solve the problem?
There is a small wire on the back side of the Altenator. It sounds like this wire is broken. I don't have a pic of the wire, but I am sure it will not be to hard to find. Look for the one that use to connect to something
Well check white wire (its one that Joey talking about) on back of alternator. If it fell off - then therein lies your problem. You can also
try to renew that contact (clean & etc) for this wire.
Also do simple alternator test - while engine running - unhook terminal off battery. If truck dies - your alternator is no more..
