Hello folks,
Several years ago, before my disco1, I bought a series 2 with a new galvanized frame, a 2.5 diesel mates to an lt 77 and disco 1 axles with leaf springs..

It came as an unfinished project for what I then thought an easy fix.

But yeah, I like the disco 1 axles , cheap, disc brakes, full float etc but the steering connecting tie rod does not play well with the leaf springs.

I assume that is why the PO abandoned the project and where as a nothing knower fell into it.

All good , now several years later I want to get this going and it look that I can improve the angle of the front axle if I move the tie rod 1/2" closer to the pumpkin.

So looking for balljoints with an extended taper shaft to raise the tie rod.

Anybody can help ?

Thank you Johan

Easy solution. just make a tie rod with heims and you and place it as high as you want with alignment/misalignment shim height. get rid of conventional TREs.

Thanks Ed, yes when I was searching extended tie rod tapers some pics showed up from tapers with a straight section of shaft. Pretty sure that was for him joints. That is great , one worry less.

Thanks again.
