Pretty sure I have one of those toasters made from the temp gauge part of yours. It’s off, it’s on but who knows what temp, and my toast is solid black and now occupies the crumb tray. Isn’t that such a Rover cooling experience. With my old D2 I ran a 160 stat with the inline mod. Also ran a real coolant gauge. It seemed to be consistent 180 with the Chevy light duty clutch and a D1 fan blade.
Got 300k on that engine before I stopped giving a shit working on it for all the other D2 related issues.
Long story short the light duty clutch stopped making that air plane noise at start up and I just didn't care and it overheated on a 100 degree day and cracked the radiator.

Did they say when they'd get more stock? When I tried to order mine, they were sold out. I called and asked when they'd be back in stock and the lady said she had 2 available. She then updated the website and I ordered mine.
No, she didn't say because they actually had 2. I would call and see.Did they say when they'd get more stock?
i have with a d1 and it works fine.I'm having the same issue and just ordered the FlowKooler pump. Why use the Dorman 620-602 and trim it vs. 620-112? Anyone change to a FlowKooler pump and stock fan?
I wouldn’t worry about that. I had a 96 D1 that I ran that cold maybe a tad colder and it ran great that way. Never noticed any extra enrichments or open loop caused by that temp. Maybe you have something else going? Just my 2 cents worth.Just adding to the testimonials here. Recently replaced the whole cooling system in my 98 (radiator, Flowcooler, 180 T-stat, etc..).
On the freeway, I run 182 - 184F. Idling in town, im around 186 - 188F. I've never seen temperatures higher than 193F since the cooling work was done.
The main question I have now is: am I running too cool? I feel like the engine is running richer than it should be.
