I just installed a Terrafirma front winch bumper i purchased from Lucky Eight. i have to say the bumper mounted up perfectly and i installed it by myself in about an hour and a half. it also has a guard for the washer bottle so i didn't have to move that and saved a lot of time.

good for you and thanks for sharing. Always good to know something made for a specific thing fits that thing like it is supposed to fit.

Having been around Rovers as long as you have I'm surprised you take something like fit for granted. Just about every bit of aftermarket armor I've had has needed to be "massaged" into place.

As much as I love to read stuff like this and think it's hilarious, more often than not there's a problem with either the terrafirma product, or the vehicle.

lets admit that in today's world of exacting tolerances in cars and trucks that Land Rover is more of "built in a blacksmith shop" in that arena. but it was nice to buy a product that had the right amount of play and the right amount of flex to be able to fit such a car without major re fabrication,or any re fabrication at all. even the original equipment that i took off to replace the bumper with was full of flex and bend technology. after all it was really flimsy plastic and sheet metal screws.

i know it sounds hard to believe with my previous posts and comments, but i was being serious to the diskoduk person. this forum has become pretty nasty and luckily there are still people left that actually frequent this forum and post positive comments.

i was being sarcastic regarding parts fitting properly. these trucks are shit and and some of the aftermarket parts are shit...no wonder nothing ever seems to fit right.

but you assumed i was being my previous typical asshole. dont post anything until your truck is linked.

I like those things in pictures. They look tight and light without being too thin or too thick. They look better than most options.

Cheers,

I had one on my d2 and it is a nice replacement for stock. I just didn't like how close it was to the grill and headlights. Great for approach angle but not if you need to nuzzle up against a tree. Or run in to it at 15 mph.

For the fix, I was having trouble getting to to go over the front crossmember that it bolts to. I cut the top pieces of the par that goes over that crossmember. If I remember correctly, it was a small triangular piece. I then used a big washer on the top where the bolt goes through.

Do you mean you cut off the entire upper triangular part circled in the photo? Or did you just trim off part of it?
