Jesus, dude.

Posting on dweb is like sex: just relax and let it happen.

(This is not the original post for this thread. My radiators are fine, thank you. [knock on wood])

Obviously, I did not intentionally post the thread multiple times. However, I do appreciate your input. Any advice about radiator purchase?

Find a radiator. Give person selling radiator money. They give you radiator. It's even easier than posting on Dweb.

Alright, I'll cut you some slack. You posted about 20 times but didn't actually ask a question. What is it you want to know about buying a radiator?

Appreciate the cliff notes.... no seriously I am wondering where the best place to purchase one is from. I find them on ebay for $150-$210. Then I see them on british pacific for $211. Atlantic british - $319. Any advice on difference between these radiators and/or what to make sure of before purchasing is much appreciated.

I hate to sound like the tech support guy on the phone who asks you if your computer's power cord is plugged in, but do you know for certain that your radiator is leaking?

If you have positively identified the source of your leak as the radiator, then I second the recommendation that you buy a used one from Marty Powell (username Drillbit).

If you have a coolant leak but have not positively identified the source, then I encourage you to track it down before you start replacing stuff. There are many places in a Disco's cooling system that can leak. Some auto parts stores will rent you a coolant system pressure tester, which will help you identify exactly where your problem is.

The pressure gauge leaked down over night when I found the leak originally. Additionally, I can see a "wet" spot on the radiator in the bottom right corner (about 1/3 of the way up from bottoms of radiator) if viewed from the behind the radiator. This led me to believe it was indeed the radiator leaking.

Find a dealer or independent shop, and buy a new radiator. Fwiw, we give a two year warranty on parts wether we install it or not.
Or buy a used one and roll the dice, nothing like rolling the dice on a cooling system part on a rover. It's like fucking a whore in Kentucky without a rubber.

So true. I simply can't understand the mindset that would consider junk picking known high failure rate components off of scrap vehicles. Some things on junk cars need to stay junk.

I can't really speak for others, but about half of the trucks I get in have had the radiators replaced recently. Do those need to stay junk too?

there is a big difference between used parts and junk parts. half my green truck has parts in in it from joel and randy williams. a handful of parts in my gold truck is from joel and tillery. never had any issues.

Also, I don't think most people realize this, but if the core isn't leaking, and its leaking between the tank and the core, the o-ring can be replaced. And if its a small puncture in the tank, that can be sealed with a special epoxy. Ask around at a couple of heavy equipment shops for a reference to a good local radiator shop.

shit, forgot you are in ATL.

you could try Veterans Radiator on Memorial, across from the Oakland Cemetary. they do a lot for the street performance crowd.

I say get a replacement from Will Tillery and be done with it.

He's in Memphis. My post was the first in this thread because Flash posted so many duplicate threads that this one didn't even have his original post.

You have a radiator shop that will work on a plastic tanked radiator near you? The few closes to me won't touch them because of the failure rate.

Or am I misunderstanding what you mean about replacing the o ring? Doesn't that entail pulling the entire tank?

No, you understood. Like I said, you gotta find a good shop. The place here does everything from heavy equipment intercoolers and radiators to coatings for fuel tanks.
