I have a 2002 Kalahari Edition that had a really rusted out rear ladder. I ordered a new Ladder from AB (I think) and set out yesterday to remove the rusted unit. What I found up top on the door were horribly rusted bolts. I soaked them to try and loosen things up, but at the end I ended up breaking the rivnuts and everything is spinning freely and wont come out. I got mad and cut off the ladder with my dremel.
So now I have the rusted tabs and bad bolts left.
Is my best option to dremel off the remaining portion of the bolt and push the nub into the door? (extract it through the panel openings) and then using the advice from this thread http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78074&referrerid=7140 use new rivnuts to install the new ladder?
