How did that work out for them? Did the owner take the trip and now is selling or did the trip never happen? And yes, I'm expecting you to know the answers to these irrelevant questions that the tech would probably have no idea about.

The internetz and DiscoMike told me it's not possible to swap in a 300TDI into a D2 for what ever reasons nobody will specifically state.... just it can't be done.

;)

Now, back to reality.

Would you be willing to discuss said swap?

I spoke with Jim and the owner of this D2 when I was considering doing this swap into my 03 D2. I ended up finding a 300tdi D1 and went that route. Jim was heading to Afganistan right around that time.
BTW, saw another 300tdi D 1 on EBay today. Sounds like the engine might need a little bit of work but it wasn't overly priced.

What are the two hoses going across the engine.

300 Tdi, R380, Tac. and cruise don't work.
22 mpg in town 26 on the road.

Donor year/model for motor/trans?
What was done about BCM, also from donor?
Other functions on NAS truck working (HDC, ABS, TCS)?
Did you use factory tcase and trans supports to help locate engine?

Engine trans from a 98 D1, BCM is original used the tac signal from the alternator
to keep it happy, other functions are working and I did use the factory tcase mounts
supports to locate engine,cdl installed.
I have a lot less hair after this one.
Many hours figuring out how to unwire-rewire

so alt keeps bcm happy but no tac? Any way to fix this?
ABS, HDC, TCS are working?

Just an update, anyone who was thinking about buying this D1 really missed out. A guy in Olympia bought it and its in my shop to get the cruise working. This thing drives, runs, and shifts great. It was a clean install too..
