Disco Tires - Do You Rotate?

If you rotate after they cup, will they eventually smooth out, or are you just screwed till you get a new set?

I've been told that they should smooth out after 1-2k. This is the first time I have had cupped tires though, so I don't know for sure.

Doesn't the LR OM state NOT to rotate the tires.
I'm sure that is in there for a reason.
