Love the tire/wheel combo. Hard to tell from the photo, are those defender wheels or ? Brand of tire? Thanks, BenOME HD ~2” with D2 front spring isolator/shock stud rings, D2 isolators on the top in the rear. If you want more down travel in the rear you can get really nice lowered shock mounts from Expedition Exchange, but you will need to get retainers for the rear springs. I think 7.50R16 is the best tire size for this combo. View attachment 60823
where does one get these tires? Are they worth the cost of admission (from what i've seen, they are VERY0 pricey tires!).Michelin XZL, 7.50-16
Some time ago Rovers North had them; there are outlets in the UK and Europe selling them. The price is steep indeed.where does one get these tires? Are they worth the cost of admission (from what i've seen, they are VERY0 pricey tires!).
Wow very clean, I was thinking on the exact same setup. Also i have the kuat rack, building a mtb baja rig, for some races and other mtb adventures.View attachment 61183
2" terrafirma medium load lift, 235/85r16 mud tires. There is no trimming that needs to be done.
Thank you. Yeah the Kuat rack works well though I will say it needs to be dropped a little lower if you want to get the gate opened far enough to grab a beer out of the cooler. My rack is actually 1-1/4" so I can use it on the TDI and the D1. I have it adapted so it pushes the rack out a bit which helps. That being said, I like my bike as high up as I can get it. When you have as much money into your bike as you do your whole rig, your priorities shift a little bit lol.Wow very clean, I was thinking on the exact same setup. I have the same 1.25 setup, because it was on my Subaru, then on my versa and now on the disco. I planning on some steelies for the full retro look.Thank you. That's a beautiful rig, but I thought the hi-lift jack was non grata here. Dig the steel rims and pizza cutter tires.OME HD ~2” with D2 front spring isolator/shock stud rings, D2 isolators on the top in the rear. I should do this with the 235 and see the difference.
Exactly what it was with my D1.

Nice look, the rack I want (need) one.View attachment 63569
235/85R16 on 2" King tapered wire springs (Australia) / Koni RAID setup. I did have to trim the rear.
Once you see how much better they look with the low version, you can’t unsee itThe low profile version looks even better, but I may be biased.

They are definitely better, but I haven't found one for sale anywhere. If someone wants to trade, let me know!Once you see how much better they look with the low version, you can’t unsee it
