Discovery camper

First, I would like to say hello to all.

Second, Has anyone converted a Discovery in to a camper with beds? I have an 88 with a mini-carawagon type bed, but want to do something like to my Discovery 1, over here in the UK the fashion is for roof-tents ( a flapping wobbly type of thing accessed by rickety ladder ) but I,m old school and would rather sleep in the truck.

So any info with regards to camper conversion would be gratefully received.

Roof top tent in a Discovery

Hi
I have just bought one of these toys (roof top tent). After much research and ideas "'it's done"!
Now one or more questions: considering that the increase in height will bring all those problems of change the midpoint of gravity and bla bla bla, and looking at the size / weight of the tent and the Discovery, with attention to the front of the roof that is lower than the rear and, that the medium of the Discovery is more or less over the front doors wouldn't be more logical set up the tent in this area instead of riding it in the back? There wouldn't be more balanced and distributed weight? Being in this place the greatest distance between the tent and the roof will cause more or less friction?
I look forward theories!
Hugs

I have had my rtt for over a year now, and really dont find an issue with the weight/balnance issues that I have read of. I did have to modify my sd rack,so the additional bottom "room" aligned with the read door for access.
That being said, the truck is currenty stock , but after the 2 in lift is added???
The only isssue I have found is if you are at an event, the constant up/down evey time you want to use the truck can be a pain! Hence I have mounted mine on a 3/4 t military trailer and love the hell out of it!
Just saying............
